SAUDIZATION PROGRAM

Contributing to the Kingdom’s goal of Saudization in the workforce, the City’s Saudization Program guides qualified Saudis into professional and technical careers in healthcare. The Saudization Program has assisted Saudi nationals in reaching professional competency in Paramedics, Nursing, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and several other areas of City operations.

 INTERNSHIPS

The City invites the Kingdom’s university and institute students to complete their practical graduation obligations by performing supervised work in the appropriate departments. In this way we also benefit by identifying and selecting skilled graduates for recruitment.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Scholarship Program enables eligible Saudi citizens to pursue advanced degrees, or to gain further training and/or practical experience in their professions. Recipients of funding compensate the City’s support by either returning to work here for the number of years equal to their studies, or repaying part of the cost of their education.

Criteria for consideration (City staff):

1.      Saudi citizenship.

2.      Minimum one year prior employment at SBAHC.

3.      Qualifications to attend the requested program.

4.      Most recent annual work evaluation of at least Level III.

5.     Letter of acceptance from a college or university accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, or a letter of acceptance from an accredited program recognized by SBAHC as appropriate to its needs.

6.      Familiarity with the program language. Those lacking such knowledge may be eligible for an additional period of training in the program language, according to the Scholarship Policy.

7.      Successful completion of screening, tests, and an interview at SBAHC. Panel interview needs to have representatives from Education and Staff Development Department and from all other concerned departments.

8.      Scholarship Request Form, with copies of the pertinent documents (transcripts, certifications, etc) required by the accepting educational institutions, and two (2) 2X2 size photos, all forwarded to the Education Advisory Committee.

Criteria for consideration (non-City staff):

  1. Saudi citizenship.
  2. GPA of 90% or above.
  3. Excellent English proficiency.
  4. Successful completion of screening, tests, and interview at SBAHC.
  5.  Medical clearance.
  6. For those who are already students in a University and want to be covered by the Foundation, the following conditions are required.

a.  Completion of at least one full year in the program/course.

b.      Excellent academic record (90% and above).

c.       Enrollment in a program undertaken at a national or international institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

This program provides training for Saudi students in various specializations, to prepare them for joining the workforce at the City. Currently, we are hosting 12 Nursing trainees, 3 Pharmacy trainees, and 3 Respiratory Therapy trainees, for whom we cover tuition and grant a monthly stipend, until they graduate from their respective colleges/institutes and can be officially recruited. We offer this service to Saudi nationals as part of our agreement with the Saudi Human Development Fund.

ON THE JOB TRAINING (OJT)

Seeking to upgrade new employees’ skills, this program assigns the full responsibilities and benefits of a position, while allowing the employee time to compensate for a lack of work experience by earning it on the job.
